Location

Psari Forada is a new builded resort at the south side of Heraklion with 98 residents. It is the extension of the coastal village Sidonia. In the area are cultivated bananas, vegetables and tomato.

Abstain 88km southeast of Heraklion.

The plain of Psari Forada is crossed by a stream, which brings only in the winter and rainy season the waters to the sea. There are many elements that rank in the most privileged areas. The unique microclimate of the region enabled farmers to cultivate during the winter period outdoor tomatoes with harvest season from October to April. At the summer season is the most sheltered part as it is certain that there is no chance the summer wind to disturb your holidays.

Passing through the village of Kalami and have longer come after half-distance, facing the plain of Psari, as it is called by the residents, is distinguished the village drowned in olive green and the deep blue sea.

Arriving in the village square with cafes in series you can enjoy your coffee or drink under the thick shade which offer you the trees, with the sand to tangle your feet, forgetting from the first moment the laborious route come until to arrive.

Each night the square is transformed, cafes filled with people of all ages and the evening walk on the beach seals the path of the day. So the days passed calmly as if time stood still, leaving the best memories to take with you when leaving, along with the desire next weekend, next year to come back to Sidonia as you always lived the moments that will follow you in thought and your narratives.

Attraction is the church of Panagia Keralimeniotissas, reminding that Psari Forada is a sheltered port.
According to the tradition, the village got its name in the years of Arab rule in Crete.
